JAM
MOJO JAM is the collaboration between Axel Vater (piano) and Ruven Wolff (drums). And so MOJO JAM are the wolf in sheep's clothing: They tell musical short stories that sound like jazz from afar, but in reality are made up of nothing but rock, acoustic dance floor and lyrical elements. Vater & Wolff catapult themselves from the Skagerrak to the Sugar Loaf in the blink of an eye and the next moment they are sitting down in the grass between dew drops on an alpine pasture, before drowning an Argentinian tango that started in shimmering heat in a thunderstorm. The result is music that is reminiscent of films and dreams of traveling in another time.
Is that jazz then? Is n't MOJO JAM too direct, too harmonious and, above all, much too simple? And so the daring motto of the expedition of piano and explosive drums remains:
